You may have questions about National Environmental Trainers (NET) and our online environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) training. Here are answers to frequently asked questions about NET and our online HAZMAT and HAZWOPER training courses.
What do you have a question about?
Registration and Payment
How do I register for an NET training course?
Choose the course you want to take from the course menu and click the button at the bottom of the page that says “register.” Fill in your name, address, and company information and create a username and password. Record your username and password somewhere because this will allow you to log in and out, saving your study time. When you’re asked for payment information, you may use MasterCard, Visa, American Express, personal or corporate checks, or a purchase order number. Our secure servers will protect your information.
I forgot my password.
You can recover your password by going to: https://www.natlenvtrainers.com/password and entering your username and email address.
How long may I take to complete the 8-hour HAZWOPER course or the 40-hour HAZWOPER course?
You may take as long as you need to complete the courses, taking breaks as needed. You may enter and exit the self-guided courses without losing accumulated study time. You’re in charge of your learning.
How can our company train several people at different times throughout the year?
You may pay for everyone who will take the training at a reduced rate with a corporate subscription. We’ll set up a database to track your people. Your employees must use your company name when they log in as we will match it with the company subscription. This solution allows for staggered training with one overall invoice to your company.
Course Functionality
Do I need to use the same computer the whole time I’m taking a training course?
You do not need to use the same computer or even the same IP address during your training. The NET server tracks your registration and study time without cookies on the computer.
What kind of device can I use?
You can access the training on any desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
Do I need any special software?
You do not need to download any software to access the courses online. Courses do have audio, so they will work best if you have audio enabled on your computer. If you do not have audio, the materials are also available in text format.
How do I continue my course?
Log in to your account, and under Current Active Course, click on the link that says “Continue where I left off.” The course will launch in a new window, so make sure any pop-up blockers are disabled for the NET website.
How do you know if I studied the required 8 hours before I take the HAZWOPER refresher training test?
You cannot access the exam until you spend 8 hours in training. Our unique programming records the cumulative study time, as seen on the timer on the screen and allows you into the exam once you reach the required time. Remember, training is for your safety.
0What if I don’t pass the test?
NET exams are designed to test your understanding of fundamentals so you will be prepared and protected at work. You may take exams as many times as needed to assure you know the fundamentals. You’ll receive feedback on screen immediately after submitting your exam. If you don’t pass, take a break and try again.
How do I get my certificate?
Your certificate will automatically be emailed to you after your course is completed and paid for. You will also receive a wallet card in the mail. If you need an additional copy of your certificate, it can be accessed by logging into your account and clicking “Certificates.”
Compliance
Is NET Training approved by OSHA?
OSHA’s policy is not to approve or endorse any training from any training provider. This training, if used in conjunction with allowing the trainee to don, doff, and manipulate the personal protective equipment (PPE) being used at a specific site, is acceptable.
What kind of training do I need?
If you are not sure what you need, make sure to find out from your employer. There are different requirements depending on your field and position. Initially, full-time site workers will need a 40-hour HAZWOPER training and occasional site workers will need a 24-hour HAZWOPER training. To keep the certification current, an 8-hour refresher is required every year.
Do I need any special software?
You do not need to download any software to access the courses online. Courses do have audio, so they will work best if you have audio enabled on your computer. If you do not have audio, the materials are also available in text format.
I’m a corporate compliance officer. How do I get updates on my employees as they complete their training?
We will either set up a database so you may view employees’ information any time or provide you with regular updates. Please ask when you sign up.
